Rimerna Foreign Trade Inc. was established in 1986 as an Export and Import Company in Izmir. In 1987 it was converted into a joint stock corporation and has been active as such ever since. Our initial business activity was the export of Turkish produced foodstuffs. We were for many years the exclusive agent of Migros of Switzerland for dried fruit, primarily raisins, figs, and apricots.  We were the sole exporter for our sister companies Ege Konserve and Oncu Gida, and exported their products of tomato paste and canned vegetables around the world until those companies were spun off in the year 2000. 

 

In 1986 Rimerna was named the exclusive agent in Turkey for FMC Food Machinery, a large U.S. company producing premier food processing machinery. We worked in this sector for more than 8 years, and we were instrumental in the establishment of many modern food factories in Turkey. 

 

Simultaneously with our food export and food production activities,  in 1987 we allied with Cytozyme Laboratories of Salt Lake City, Utah U.S.A. and began our activities in the agricultural plant nutrition sector. We have been Cytozyme's exclusive agent in Turkey since that time. Cytozyme is the world's most advanced producer of bio-technological plant nutrition products, and their products, marketed by Rimerna, have, over the last 34 years, become the Gold Standard for this sector in Turkey.

 

In 2012 Rimerna joined forces with one of Europe's largest fertilizer producers,  Adriatica, an Italian company located near Venice. Adriatica produces a wide range of sophisticated basic and special fertilizer products, many of which are 100% water soluble and suitable for use in drip application. Rimerna has been Turkey's sole representative and importer of Adriatica products since that time, and these products have also gained a sterling reputation and great popularity within the Turkish market.
